Political action can feel as inaccessible as ever right now with the farce of Westminster politics shrouded in constant scandal and the constant wars we see facilitated by volatile international actors. Yet, by using your vote this Thursday, 7th May, you can make a difference. Your vote tells politicians what is most important to you, allows you to hold them accountable and ensures that the voices of Angus North and Mearns are heard at Holyrood.
By voting this Thursday, you will help shape policy across all areas in the competence of Scottish government - education, health and social care, housing, transport, the Scottish economy. Politics impacts our everyday lives, and using your vote on 7th May allows your voice to shape these policies. I’ve written extensively covering these topics, and how I will tackle these at Holyrood - which you can view here.
Your vote is critical to bring Scottish politics back to where it belongs - Scotland. No more being dragged out of international alliances against our will, or being dragged into catastrophic (not to mention illegal) international wars by Westminster. Your vote can help bring policy areas such as energy and immigration into the competence of the Scottish Parliament and not remain reserved to Westminster. Scotland is a country of peace and prosperity, where we look after everyone in society and as your representative at Holyrood, I promise to fight for what is right for Scotland and the people of Angus North and Mearns.
From the Chartists to the Suffragettes, many fought a long and hard fight to secure their right to vote, and in turn your right to vote. The Scottish Parliament election on Thursday 7th May is your chance to have your voice heard. I urge you to exercise your vote, where others were prevented from doing so.
Entrusting me with your vote on the Constituency Ballot (purple paper) on 7th May is a guaranteed way to ensure that your voice is heard year round, 24/7 at the highest levels of Scottish government. My priority has always been to represent you - your needs, your experiences, your concerns. I am honoured to stand for Angus North and Mearns, and I hope to see you at your local polling station this Thursday, 7th May.
Polling stations are open across Angus North and Mearns between 7am-10pm this Thursday, 7th May 2026. Please refer to your polling card for the location of your polling station, or check using your postcode here: https://wheredoivote.co.uk/. Anyone registered to vote over the age of 16 is eligible to vote in the Scottish Parliament election. Remember, you do not need a photographic ID to vote in Scottish Parliament elections.
And a vote for the SNP on the Regional List Ballot (peach paper) ensures a Scottish government that is always on Scotland's side, providing practical help with the cost of living, continuing to improve the Scottish NHS and taking steps to take Scotland's future into it's own hands by demanding a second Independence referendum when we take a majority of seats in the Parliament.
But this only happens with your votes - if you want it, you have to vote for it.
